Woe Lotta Hair Workshops

Black hair care education is often overlooked in mainstream beauty programs, schools, and workplaces, leaving a significant knowledge gap when it comes to caring for and understanding textured hair. At Woe Lotta Hair, we are committed to bridging this gap through certification courses, workshops, and educational initiatives that empower individuals with the skills, confidence, and understanding necessary to properly care for Black hair. In addition to building knowledge and self-confidence, we focus on offering career pathways to financial self-sufficiency—keeping youth busy, engaged, and out of trouble by providing them with valuable skills that can translate into sustainable income opportunities.

Empowering Through Education

Our workshops focus on dismantling negative connotations surrounding Black hair—challenging myths that it is "unprofessional," "ugly," "doesn’t grow," or that Black individuals are "born with innate knowledge" of how to care for it. We provide a wide range of workshops tailored to various audiences, from youth to educators and businesses, ensuring that Black hair care is respected, understood, and embraced in all environments.

Our Workshops Include:

✔ Youth Empowerment & Hair Confidence – Teaching young Black girls and boys about their natural hair, how to care for it, style it, and embrace its beauty.
✔ Breaking Hair Myths – Educating individuals on the history and science of Black hair, debunking harmful stereotypes and misinformation.
✔ Natural Hair & Protective Styling Education – Providing hands-on learning for students, parents, and caregivers to equip them with the skills to properly care for Black hair.
✔ Building Confidence Through Hair Care – Helping young people see their hair as a source of pride, identity, and cultural heritage.
✔ Generating Income Through Hair – Teaching youth and aspiring stylists how to monetize hair care skills, create business opportunities, and build a career in the beauty industry.
✔ School & Workplace Integration – Working with educators, businesses, and organizations to incorporate Black hair care education into their environments, ensuring inclusion and understanding.

Our workshops can be fully customized to fit the unique needs of any organization, with formats ranging from 1-hour sessions to intensive 6-hour workshops or full 1 to 5-day training programs.
